Pat Toner
Pat has been involved with online communication since her first experiences
in early 1990. She created and maintained a bulletin board service (a precursor
of the Internet) from 1993 to 1996. The popularity of the Internet developed with
unbelievable speed and she became interested in designing web pages
and websites, realizing the future of advertising would be electronic. In
her never-ending quest for knowledge, she taught herself everything
she could learn about computer programs and the Internet at a time when there
was no structured education in the field, she began Toner
Design in 1997, officially registering the business in 1998.
Pat's degree in Fine Art coupled with a focus in math has helped in her success.
Additional experience working as Webmaster for an Internet Service Provider
further helped increase her knowledge of all aspects involving the intricacies
of the Internet.
Pat has been responsible for the production of a very large number of commercial,
non-profit and personal websites. She has provided the site architecture, custom
graphic design, and interactive page development, including e-commerce solutions.
Pat is highly knowledgeable in HTML (hand-coding as well as using Dreamweaver
professional software, Javascript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Perl and ASP.NET
programming languages, creating customized scripts as required for various
clients. She has participated in successful site development teams for many
more websites both on-site and through remote, virtual organizations.
She also
provides site registration and maintenance services to a large number of clients
on an ongoing basis.
In addition, Pat has worked to become knowledgeable and successful in site
optimization for search engines, enabling customer sites to show up well in
search engines and working with clients to improve their current search engine
standings.
Pat is not limited to web design, however. She also produces desktop publishing/prepress
work, creating logos, brochures, and other print media items for client businesses.
She has created custom Microsoft Access database programs, and her writing
skills have been put to use on a number of occasions as she has written company
newsletters and brochures. Pat continues to develop her Internet talent and
knowledge through extended study and education in new programs and Internet
technology.
